Vast quantities of contaminated water are generated every year from oil and gas well exploration and production requiring treatment or disposal. Traditional disposal methods for produced and frac flowback water remove the water from the water cycle by injecting it deep underground.
Clean Runner's proprietary water reclamation technology called PetroCleanse effectively and economically cleans the produced and frac flowback water from natural gas and oil wells and returns it for re-use, while protecting our environment. Our integrated system employs a combination of technologies depending on the exiting purity requirements of the incoming waste water.
The principal advantage of PetroCleanse over traditional water treatment technologies is our year round large capacity. PetroCleanse is robust and reliable in the most challenging conditions – allowing our customers to be confident that we will be there when they need us.
Received water is sorted and isolated based on Total Dissolved Solids (TDS). All water passes through initial clarification, whereby solids are destabilized and emulsions are broken down. Toxins are separated out into solid waste, while liquids are further processed.
This process uses specialized equipment to accelerate natural processes that settle out impurities in fluids by causing particles to separate into individual fractions, through the processes of gravity, settling, centrifugal action, and filtration. No chemicals are required.
